Compassionate. Direct. Grounded in Real-Life Change.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process. I work with individuals, couples, and families to better understand what is happening beneath the surface, identify the patterns that keep them stuck, and develop more effective ways of relating to themselves and the people they love.
I believe therapy should be compassionate, but also honest and practical. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, frustrated, ashamed, or unsure what to do next. My role is to create a steady, respectful space where we can look at what is really going on without blame, judgment, or avoidance.
Because I work from a marriage and family therapy perspective, I pay close attention to relationships and systems. Whether I am meeting with one person, a couple, or a family, I am interested in how communication, conflict, emotional distance, family history, stress, and unmet needs interact with one another. Often, the goal is not to “fix” people, but to understand the cycle one is caught in and begin changing how that cycle works.
I believe therapy is a place to tell the truth, grieve what has been lost, repair what can be repaired, and build a clearer path forward. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your relationship, your family, or someone you love, my goal is to help you move toward greater clarity, stability, and connection.
For clients affected by addiction or substance use, I understand that recovery is rarely just about stopping a behavior. Addiction can impact trust, safety, intimacy, parenting, identity, and family roles. Loved ones may feel anxious, angry, exhausted, confused, or unsure whether they are helping or enabling. I help clients and families make sense of these dynamics and begin building healthier boundaries, communication, accountability, and support.
I also use CRAFT-informed strategies when working with loved ones of people struggling with substance use. This approach helps family members communicate more effectively, reduce conflict, respond with greater intention, and encourage treatment and recovery in a constructive way.
My approach is not about blame. It is about understanding. It is about helping clients recognize what is no longer working, strengthen emotional awareness, practice new conversations, and make choices that are more aligned with the life and relationships they want.
In our work together, we might focus on:
-
Improving communication and emotional expression
-
Rebuilding trust and connection
-
Helping loved ones set healthier boundaries
-
Reducing conflict and emotional reactivity
-
Exploring family-of-origin patterns
-
Strengthening self-awareness and personal accountability
-
Creating more honest, connected relationships
