My Journey

Before becoming a therapist, I followed a path that deeply shaped the way I understand people, relationships, service, and change. After six years practicing law, I felt called to serve people in a different way and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2005. I served for seven years as a journalist and public affairs specialist, telling stories, working with people under pressure, and gaining a deeper understanding of purpose, resilience, responsibility, and human connection.

That journey eventually led me to the field of mental health and substance use recovery, where I found my true calling.

Today, I work with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating relationship challenges, emotional disconnection, substance use, addiction, and recovery.

I am especially committed to supporting people whose lives and relationships have been affected by mental health challenges, including those struggling with substance use themselves and loved ones trying to figure out how to help without losing themselves in the process.

My clinical background includes work in residential treatment, detox, outpatient substance abuse counseling, crisis intervention, individual and couples counseling, and group counseling.  I have supported clients at many stages of relationship and personal crisis, from early stabilization to long-term rebuilding. I have also worked closely with family members and partners who are trying to understand addiction, repair trust, set healthier boundaries, and restore connection.

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I view healing through a relational lens. I believe many of the struggles people bring to therapy are not only individual problems, but also patterns that live in relationships, families, communication styles, and old survival strategies. Therapy offers a place to slow down, understand those patterns, and begin creating something healthier.

My work is grounded in compassion, honesty, practical support, and respect for each client’s story. I believe people are capable of meaningful change, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work to reclaim their lives, strengthen their relationships, and reconnect with who they want to be.
