Family Support for Addiction
When someone you love is struggling with substance use, it can be difficult to know what to do. Families often feel caught between helping and enabling, setting boundaries and staying connected, or expressing concern and avoiding conflict.
There are many resources available for the individuals struggling with substance abuse, but not for the people who love them.
CRAFT support is designed for loved ones of people struggling with substance use. This work helps family members develop practical tools for communication, boundaries, self-care, and treatment encouragement. It also supports families in reducing emotional reactivity and responding with greater clarity and intention.
This can be especially helpful for partners, parents, adult children, and other family members who want to support recovery while also protecting their own emotional well-being.
I am a Certified CRAFT Clinician and one of the few providers in Hawaii with specialized training in Community Reinforcement and Family Training, an evidence-based approach for helping families affected by substance use.
